Deck the parties and gifts Awkward Holiday Office

Deanna Hartley, CareerBuilder Writer

This is the season to be jolly - and more employers are getting into the holiday spirit this year. But there is good news and strange news for American workers in this holiday season.

Let's start with the good news: You can expect more benefits on holiday this year, according to a new survey by CareerBuilder.

This season, the employer shall provide more (63 percent, compared to 59 percent last year) and provides more gifts (2-5, from 1 March of the previous year) and premium (47 percent versus 45 percent in the previous year).

It is interesting that the vast majority (96 percent) of workers prefer a bond to a Christmas party.

And now for the new stranger.

All I's for Christmas ... Hot Pockets?
There is no better way to say "Happy Holidays!" having a snack in the microwave. That's right - we ask people to tell us the most unusual gift you have received from a colleague, and apparently spent someone in the office fridge and grabbed (hopefully its clean) lunch.

While not the most pleasant surprise, at least it was edible gift - unlike someone, ahem, promising a pawn. Yes, only one piece, not a full version of the game. Depending on your interests, you may prefer the zombies in a collection of figures.

Some of the best gifts, but still a little unusual, containing a bag of chips and a plastic bag with a single dose of coffee.

And then there's ridiculous, "she thought," gift: a fire extinguisher, which featured probably someone grabbed a nearby wall and to a colleague.

With this kind of taste, fortunately all is not buying gifts for office this year.

Only 1-5 Scion for gifts for employees (21 percent) and employers (20 percent). Not surprisingly, the vast majority of them (3 and 4) keep it for $ 25 or less.
