LOS ANGELES (AP) - Truck drivers carry the nation's busiest in Southern California port complex goods went on strike on Monday in a dispute over payment status and employee, every month the coast costs west of labor disputes in major delays in the billions of dollars in trade.
The move comes after a vote of the Teamsters weekend. Drivers of four companies are striking, but it was not immediately clear how many of the 16,000 truck drivers would work in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The strike should not close all businesses port.
