Equal Pay Day highlights benefit women trailing men
Today it is known as Equal Pay Day, as seen symbolically represented female wage gap compared to male earnings according to CNN Money. The gap has slightly from "78 Cent" often cited improved in recent years. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women are now together 82.1 percent of what men do. But this January 4 cents a small consolation.
If you look at certain jobs, especially those who have advanced training and experience, women are often worse. In the 20 jobs with the largest wage differentials , Fortune analyzed government data and found that some of the biggest differences are in jobs that should be paid more. For example, financial advisors women, 61.3 percent of what men did turned consultant. Women doctors or surgeons typically earn 62.2 percent of the wages of their male counterparts. Financial salespeople? For every dollar that men make in wages in the middle of the scale of the industry, women make up 65.1 percent.
