HONG KONG (Dow Jones) - President and CEO of The Associated Press on Monday called for the development of international law that would make a war crime to journalists or taken as hostages to kill.

Gary Pruitt said a new framework is needed to protect journalists who are aligned on the conflicts increasingly extremist groups.
