AOL Jobs Shilpy reader wants to know ...
What if your boss constantly insulted their intelligence and personality (which has nothing to do with work, mind you) polite in person and in e-mails and even talk to her, she continues to do?
Shilpy, remember: you are good enough, you're smart enough, and goshdarnit, people like you. (Sorry, I can not even stop thinking about this Saturday Night Live 40 special anniversary.) They are in what is known as a shitty situation. You have decent first attempt to deal directly with that person. But to change a few people, when they think that they get into trouble. So it's time to go to HR or your boss's boss, and everything on the line. I hope you saved these e-mails; that the evidence is a wonderful thing. Of course, this process can further strain the relationship with the boss, so maybe you'd like to see, if you move to another department, or may even want to go to another company. Life is too short for harassment in the workplace - find a place where you will be treated with respect.

After a long period of unemployment, I finally got a decent job. A disadvantage is that it is a contract position, but it is for a year, so it's okay. They said that there is a possibility that the situation could become permanent. Tips to increase my chances?
Ted is excellent! Congratulations. Get an inspiration to all who have been unemployed for a long time so. Do not give up! I know it's frustrating, soul-crushing, but will work for you is certainly there - in the future, continue to apply. Now we live in the age of the positions of the contract: no benefits , no guarantee. These jobs are sometimes permanently, if you prove to be a valuable employee, and if their internal budgetary situations can be solved.
Of course, many of which are beyond its control. So now, only the best employees and colleague can. Show earlier; Bosses like that. Danger. Hit your deadlines. Offer to help. Personality-wise, fighting between. (He left me a great tip for my mental health - now that a compromise was!) Not super strong person to be, and not be super quiet. Be nice. Watch out for his eccentricities - all have 'em - and not displayed. A hard worker who comes along with everyone? That's what I want to keep it! Of course it is Debbie Downer (I'm not going with the new SNL), but keep your eyes open for other options if a permanent position is not in the cards at the moment. Good Luck!
