(Reuters) - The US industry expanded in February at the fastest pace since November, after the release of its lowest level in a year in the previous month, and on Friday showed an industry report.

Financial information company Markit said the preliminary or "flash" US Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index rose to 54.3 in February from a final value of 53.9 in January. Economists polled by Reuters a reading of 53.6 expected.

A reading above 50 indicates expansion in economic activity.
