Legal marijuana industry Washington Open for business

Mark McCants cultures Happy Shoppe is a retailer of 502 in the state of Washington.
More than a year and a half of voters Washington overwhelmingly leisure for adults, retail stores in the state of Washington July 8, finally opened for the legalization of marijuana for business on Tuesday.

About two dozen locations around the state, need to open their doors - a fraction of the 334 retail stores finally approved and supervised by the Board of Alcoholic Beverage Control Washington.

The national and local press is on Columbia City Seattle where concentrate the city attorney Pete Holmes Seattle (1-502 sponsor) and Alison Holcomb of the ACLU (who wrote the I-502) will witness the historic event. It is expected that the long, narrow range of products (especially in large quantities, and the flower of the pre-rolled) and the high prices for the event lines that usually starts at "High Noon".

But from my perspective as CEO of the Association of Canadian marijuana (MJBA) - also known as "the Chamber of Commerce for business legal cannabis", the true story goes far beyond the media event on Tuesday.

Over the past one and a half years, the building blocks for a new industry in the U.S. state of Washington have established. A true popular phenomenon , the law marijuana industry is created by a wide band of U.S. Americans who each bring something unique to the party.

These entrepreneurial pioneers come from all walks of life: 20 years and experienced some technical and business 50 years ; Medical marijuana patients, the proponents of the system and are savvy entrepreneurs and investors who recognize the potential of an untapped market.

The Green noise is the beginning of a new era for American companies - a world of children, gentler business cooperation and competition drive innovation. We have developed about Gordon Gecko "greed is good" philosophy, through the conspicuous consumption and planned obsolescence.

While many of us are building our brands and differentiate ourselves from the competition trained; the establishment of a new industry, it is important to be together as a community to define best practices, standards and principles. Self-regulation is better regulation imposed from outside.

MJBA offers forums and platforms for the participants of the right cannabis industry to define our best practices. Through events such as trade shows, vendors and training seminars, we take all stakeholders to discuss critical issues such as finance, security, distribution and packaging.

July 8 marks the official beginning of our experience. Those of us involved in the emerging industry of Washington to take seriously our responsibility. We know the rest of the country, and to see, in fact, the rest of the world, as not only the effects of the legalization of the economy but the social fabric.

As an industry, we are committed as consistent. We know we will be performing at a higher level, and our goal is to create self-control.

It is a revolution of the Company at the base; Industry, which has been grown overnight in pregnancy for 40 or 50 years ago. Driven by federal ban - industry creates by state by state, county district, each trying to define the best way to meet growing market demand.

It is both a history of local businesses, and a global problem. What's going on this week in the State of Washington is new; what happens in the weeks and months to the development of the industry will follow make history.
